Tomorrow, I am going to hold a workshop which is a part of “Get familiar with thinking strategies”. Using VTS(Visual Thinking Strategies) and visualization, the learners enjoy a few types of discussions.
The topic this time is “Mindset”. I chose this because I was stunned when I found I had a fixed mindset. Loving to learn new things, I had never regarded myself as a person with that mindset.
Nevertheless, the more research I did, the more description fits my personality or value system. It took me a while to face the reality before I started to change my habit.
Now, I want people like me to go through what I have without the pain I had experienced. VTS allows us to reflect on our mindset safely, since, seemingly, we are just talking about a work of art at least overtly.
Tomorrow’s workshop is for employers. Last one was for marketing research analysts. Next month, it is for mothers.
I must focus on concrete and handy takeaways for every learner.
I often think, how long I will be able to continue working from now. I am getting old,.
When I was a full-time English teacher, my goal was help my students realize their dream. “I want to earn M.A. in MIT.” “I need to earn MBA in University of London.” I was their teacher and coach. In a way, I help them grow.
Now, my goal is different. I want to connect people. I do both graphic recording and vts facilitation. Thankfully, I was given a chance to connect people in both fields. Some of my vts friends have started to learn visualization, whille some of my friends from visualization workshop are interested in vts.
By the way, I have rented a small farm for three years. This year, the small leaves in the picture above has already grown to those in the picture below. I cherish the growth which is similar to connection of people.
